Soaked I got up and started to pack up. EVERYTHING was soaked. Although my tent had maintained its waterproofing, a lot of stuff stays outside the tent to give me more space. The tent has a couple of vestibules, but they didn’t stay dry. Neither did the floor of the tent. And, everything I touched […]
Motorcycle
A motorcycle is a fabulous form of transportation for those that will try it. I rode a bike once and fell in love. My friend rode a motorcycle and swore to never get on one again. It isn’t for everyone, but a bike provides a sense of freedom and a connection to the ride that you just can’t get anywhere else. Two wheels are an amazing way to get around, and a motorcycle will add fun and adventure to every trip.
While a motorcycle isn’t usually suitable for the weekly grocery trip, and it’s tough to take your animals to the vet on one, they provide a freedom and fun that you can never experience in a car, not even a convertible. And they give you a connection with other riders, that you also can’t get in a car, no matter what kind.
There are a billion types of bikes to choose from, cruisers, crotch rockets, touring bikes, sport tourers, you name it.
Heart Lake and hot springs
Heart Lake Heart Lake campground was okay, but there was no water available. I had to get it from the lake. It doesn’t sound too bad, however there was only one campsite that had access to the lake and it wasn’t mine. Fortunately, a couple of nice guys from eastern Canada had it and told

Cold and BEARS!
Wet and cold It had rained during the night at Mt. Robson Park, but a sliver of sun came out in the morning. Of course everything was soaked as I packed it up, but I was hoping for something drier ahead, so I got to work packing and loading up the bike. It always seems
Canada and Mt. Robson
Hot Vernon, BC was hot! And, the enormity of what I was wanting to do had finally hit me as I had ridden into Canada the previous day. I didn’t sleep well and the anxiety was hitting me. I talked to my family and felt much better. I loaded up the bike and hit the

Slow
A new system So I haven’t done this in a while and it took me a while to get everything sorted and packed. I didn’t hit the road until almost 0845, which for me is very late. I did get a pretty sunrise though. Sunrise at my campsite There was also a cheeky chipmunk that
Here we go!
She’s off! Well, the long awaited trip has begun! I took off from the house at about 0830. Later than I wanted, but not nearly as late as I feared. My destination would be near Bend, Oregon. I’ve made the trip up 97 dozens of times, so I knew what to expect and I
Bodie and Mono Lake
Photography If you don’t know me well, you may not know that I love ghost towns. I also love photography, though I’m just a beginner. Now that you know these things, you’ll understand why I decided to plan a short trip to Bodie State Park and Mono Lake. I’ve recently upgraded my camera set up

Getting ready
Good day, my wonderful friends! It has been a minute since I’ve chatted to you. I hope everyone is well and happy. Planning I’ve been getting up to planning my next trip, Alaska. The plan last year, after I finished motobiking around the lower 48, was to head to Alaska in July of this year.
What’s next
What’s next Now that I’ve been to every continental state and Hawaii, Alaska is the only thing left for me in the United States. For the last few months I’ve been studying roads and ways to get to Alaska, COVID restrictions, potential roads in Alaska, camping areas, places to see, so much information! While I’ve
How far and how much
The trip In thinking over what I should say about the trip, I become overwhelmed. There is so much including how far I went, how long I travelled, what it cost, the gear, if my time researching was wasted, what I felt through the whole thing, just a lot to think about. I’ll try to
